Even someone like me who always fears being late for morning meetings has achieved freedom of travel here.
The most outstanding feature of a hotel is its seamless connection with public transportation. Exit C of Yuehaimen Station on Line 13, walk for 4 minutes and step into the hotel lobby. Dragging a 28 inch suitcase, walk along the shaded corridor, unable to even bask in the scorching summer sun of Shenzhen. The whole subway ride to Shenzhen North Station and Bao'an Airport goes directly without transfer, and there is no need to worry about traffic jams or delays during the morning rush hour. On the day I caught my early flight, it only took 40 minutes from the hotel to the airport, which was half an hour less than my colleagues living in Futian. 50 meters from the entrance is a bus stop, with over a dozen routes covering the entire science and technology park. It takes only two stops to get to the nearby Tencent and Baidu buildings, and there are few online ride hailing services available.
A 10 minute walk to the living circle brings in all the core resources of the science park. Walk south for 8 minutes to reach Shenzhen Bay Science and Technology Ecological Park. You don't have to leave half an hour early for morning meetings, and you won't be late even if you take a leisurely stroll. Walking east for 12 minutes is the Shenzhen Bay Coastal Greenway. After a busy afternoon of docking, I walked along the coastline for two kilometers on my way home to watch the light show at the Talent Park turn on. My nerves, which had been tense all day, instantly relaxed. Three large commercial districts in the surrounding area can be reached within a 5-minute ride by shared bicycles. Chaoshan hotpot, Cantonese style snacks, and late night canteens are all available, and even a 24-hour business printing shop is within walking distance. If you need to fill out the bidding documents at the last minute, just take a turn downstairs.
The convenience of cross regional travel has exceeded expectations. At the entrance of the hotel is the core main road of the science and technology park. It takes less than 15 minutes to drive to Qianhai and Houhai by car, and there are plenty of free parking spaces available, so you don't have to wander around the old office building for half an hour to find a parking spot. I want to take some time this weekend to go to Shenzhen Bay Park to see the sea. It only takes 10 minutes to ride a shared bike and you can leisurely stroll to the beach without squeezing into the subway. Last time I had to attend a conference in Futian CBD on short notice. It took me 25 minutes to transfer from the subway to Line 9, which was nearly 20 minutes less than staying at other hotels in the science park.

This time, when I came to Shenzhen Science and Technology Park to connect with the project, I deliberately avoided the crowded express hotels with office buildings and chose to stay at the Lia Charlton Hotel Shenzhen next to Shenzhen Bay. Originally, I only wanted it to be close to the park. After staying for three nights, I discovered that this high-end hotel hidden in Nanshan District perfectly blends the fast pace of Shenzhen with the relaxed feeling of the coastal area. In the endless journey, I finally found a corner where I could breathe a sigh of relief.
Take Metro Line 5 directly from Shenzhen North Station, and walk for 5 minutes from the subway station to the hotel entrance. There is no need to take detours or rush under the scorching sun, and it is particularly easy to carry a suitcase full of plans. When checking in, the front desk heard that I was here to attend a conference at the Science and Technology Park. Not only did they quickly complete the procedures, but they also took the initiative to hand over a nearby commuting guide: it only takes 8 minutes to walk to Shenzhen Bay Science and Technology Ecological Park, and the 24-hour Chaoshan Soup Noodle Shop and business points that can quickly print bidding documents nearby are clearly marked. Open the room door of the high floor, the wind of Shenzhen Bay diffuses through the french window, and the talent park in the distance is sparkling, even the city skyline is paved in front of us.
The most surprising experience is the perfect balance between work and life. The 1.8-meter wide desk in the room provides ample office space, and the gigabit network runs large volume demonstration videos without any lag. The hidden interface on the desktop also connects to computers, tablets, and work phones without crowding. Busy until evening, pushing open the window, the sunset in Shenzhen Bay dyed the sea orange, and the nerves that had been tense all day instantly softened. You don't have to squeeze into the subway, just a 10 minute walk to Shenzhen Bay Coastal Greenway. Walking two kilometers along the coastline with the evening breeze, watching young people running and residents walking their dogs pass by, completely forgetting that you are still in the core area of the science and technology park.
The details of the hotel also hit all the comfort points of travel. The freshly cooked Chaoshan rice noodles for breakfast are full of freshness, and the taste of Cantonese shrimp dumplings and shaomai is no less than that of street side tea houses. If you don't have time to go downstairs in the morning, you can also book a portable meal box in advance to pack and take away. I worked overtime until 10 o'clock at night and returned to my room. The room service had quietly sorted out the information I had spread on the table, placed the chilled mineral water by the table, and even turned on the sleep aid aromatherapy at the bedside in advance.
